The powerful and safe sulfamic acid has a white crystalline solid structure. This non-hygroscopic and stable acid is a highly effective descaling agent with descaling applications. Among acid cleaning applications of this cleaning agent are ceramics, metals, industrial equipment as well as household appliance cleaning.  This crystalline agent dissolves in water and formamide, while it is slightly soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, acetone, methanol, and ether. It is considered less corrosive to metals than other strong acids like hydrochloric acid.Its scale-solubilizing capacity makes it ideal for removing scale from cooling towers, boilers, heat exchangers, condensers, and other HVACs.
